They pull you in just when you think you’re out! Season 2 of Stephen Merchant and Elgin James’ British crime comedy The Outlaws features a misfit group of people, including Christopher Walken, who is doing community service. They are then dragged back into organized crime by a drug lord looking for their money. As if the orange vests weren’t enough.

Thirteen Lives (August 5, Premier Video)
This thriller film is directed by Ron Howard and tells the story of the Tham Luang Thai cave rescue in 2018 of a boy soccer team and its coach. It was carried out by an international group of cave divers. This is one of three films about rescue. The other two are National Geographic’s (and very good) documentary The Rescue. It is set in 1973 in Southern California’s San Fernando Valley and follows Cooper Hoffman, a 15-year-old actor, and his budding romance with Alana Haim (an early 20s photographer’s assistant). A League of Their Own (August 12, Prime Video)
This eight-episode series features Penny Marshall’s 1992 classic baseball film. It is about the creation of an all-women’s World War II-era baseball team. Although the basic setup remains the same, the Prime Video series will have more time to explore issues like race and sexuality. There are many stars in the cast, including Abbi Jacobson, D’Arcy Caren, Chante Adams, and Kate Berlant.
Samaritan (August 26, Prime Video)
The dark superhero movie was originally scheduled to be released in 2020. However, a series of delays forced it to 2022. It is now available on Amazon Prime Video and not in theaters. Sylvester Stallone plays the role of Samaritan, a superhero who hides for 20 years. A young boy discovers who he really is and encourages him back to clean up the streets.
