1st Step: Start CA course with CA Foundation level

Enrollment with ICAI for CA foundation course after completing class 12th exams. For the CA foundation examination, there are 4 subjects which you need to attempt for clearing this level. And they are –

  • Principles and Practices of Accounting
  • Mercantile Law and General English
  • Business Mathematics, Logical Reasoning, and Statistics
  • Business Economics & Business and Commercial Knowledge

2nd Step: Enrolling for CA Intermediate Level

Registering in CA IPCC or CA inter, after 12th, students should need to clear CA foundation level with a minimum of 50% marks. And, the registration for the intermediate should be done nine months before the first day of the month in which examination occurs. The syllabus of IPCC is divided into 2 groups, including 4 subjects in each. And they are-

In Group 1 – Accounting, Corporate Laws & Other Laws, Cost and Management Accounting and Taxation.

In Group 2 – Advanced Accounting, Auditing and Assurance, Enterprise Information Systems & Strategic Management, and Financial Management and Economics for finance.

3rd Step: Registration for CA Final

The aspirant may sit for the CA final examination during the last 6 months of 3 years of training period. And also, the CA final syllabus includes 2 groups and 4 subjects in each group.

In Group 1– Financial Reporting, Strategic Financial Management, Advanced Auditing and Professional Ethics, and Corporate and Economic Laws

In Group 2- Strategic Cost Management and Performance Evaluation, Elective paper, Direct Tax Laws & International Taxation and Indirect Tax Laws.

The duration of the Chartered Accountancy course after the 12th is 4.5 years, but it may last 5 or 5.5 years to complete due to failed attempts.

The candidate is eligible for appearing CA course after 12th if they have scored the minimum marks or at least 60% in class 12th.
